Showcase - more servant cossacks

Made 2 bases of muscovite servant cossacks. Because of large amount of misyurka helmets and chainmail on leader they look more like "private" cossacks of muscovite Stroganov merchant family who conquered Urals and Syberia for the tsar.

These are mostly snaphance armed cossacks printed from stls that you can buy in my store. Stay tuned, more to come!

Painted mounted servant cossacks

Finally I've painted all mounted miniatures!

And a group photo of all servant cossacks:

You can found stl files at my store.

Painted Servant Cossacks - finished set

Finished all 6 miniatures from the set. Here how they look like painted:

I used soft colors to show poor servant cossacks - only one guy in misyurka has expensive colored dress.

Painted servant cossacks with spears - first try

Finally I took the brush and painted first 3 servant cossacks with spears from my collection. Cossack in misyurka helmet is an earlier print - now this model has visibly smaller head and more historically accurate size of said misyurka.

Preview - Servant cossacks attacking with melee weapons

Another set of miniatures I am currently working on is "Servant Cossacks with melee weapons".

These guys can represent pretty wide range of moscovite foot troops or various rebelling peasants and cossacks.

Here is a preview of first 2 miniatures:

As you can see, these lads are poorly dressed and armed. As I found out, iconic moscovite bardiche was a rare weapon in the first half of XVII-th century, not more than 10% of all melee troops and militias were armed with them and probably even less. Nonetheless I've decided to give that poor guy a bardiche so he looks more menacing.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Announcing next set - Servant Cossack with spears

Time to present next set of 15mm miniatures that I'm currently working on and that soon will be available for purchase from the webstore.

These are servant cossacks of the Moscovite Tsardom, but they also can be used as various rebelling cossack factions. Spear was quite common weapon, but mostly servant cossacks were armed with matchlock muskets. That's why in this set of 6 miniatures 2 cossacks have both spears and muskets.

Others are armed with spears and some additional hand-to-hand weapons, such as knives, sabers, axes and even a small morning star. One cossack also wears a "misyurka" type of helmet - in fact kind of a mail coif with a solid metal top.

In all I plan to make 3 different sets of servant cossacks on foot and this is going to be the first. Stay tuned!
