New release - Registered cossacks marching

I am happy to announce 1st regular set of Zaporozhian cossacks - Marching Registered Cossacks.

Set includes 6 figures of 15mm Zaporozhian cossacks in marching poses, armed with various types of snaphance flintlock muskets (some are held in leather and cloth cases), sabers and axes.

Figures are mostly based on amazing paintings made by Serhiy Shamenkov who made great research of cossack's dress and military organisation. All cossacks are dressed in typical Ukrainian peasants garments and boots, 2 of them also wear long cloaks, while 2 wear hungarian "menta" overcoat that was popular among Registered Cossacks at the beginning of the 17th century. 2 models are shown wearing fur hats in a strange manner (layed flat or worn upside-down) popular among Zaporozhians.

These models can represent Zaporozhian cossacks or Registered cossacks of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as well as Ukrainian Hetman's infantry of late 16th- early 18th centuries.

You can buy STL for these miniatures in my store.

Stay tuned, more to come!

Free Promo-set: Come get it!

Pleased to announce free set that starts new army for Eastern Rennaissance.

So, next army that I'm working on is Zaporozhian Cossacks - famous frontier warriors from the Ukrainian steppes, who through their long history participated in conflicts with all major forces in 16-17th century Eastern Europe. Sometimes they fought as allies of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth or (later) Muscovite tsardom, while sometimes rebelled and fought for themselves.

First release is a small free promo set of 2x 15mm cossacks, mocking their enemies with insults and offensive gestures they were rather famous for. They did it to provoke enemies into loosing order and attacking cossacks (who often held fortified positions and waited for the charge). Also in this way cossacks strenthed their fighting spirit and demonstrated their will to fight.

These 2 figures are dressed in typical Ukrainian peasants dress and crude boots, are armed with a polish-hungarian saber, axe, and a snaphance musket. They can represent either independent Zaporozhian Sich cossacks or Registered Cossacks, who fought in campains of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and received payment from the Crown (in theory, while in reality they often received nothing and rebelled).

This set is released closely to the tragic date of February 24th and also is a small tribute to the stubborn heroic defence that Ukrainian people hold for 4 years day-to-day.

You can find stl files and download them for free in my store.

Stay tuned, more to come!

Preview - Mounted standard-bearer

Finished 2nd model for the muscovite command set. It's a banner bearer, who holds so called "boyar prapor" - personal standard of a wealthy noble (not an army standard given by the tsar himself).

This young boyar son or boyar's servant (kholop) rides fine horse in a decorated barding, weas a suit of padded armor and a decorated misyurka helmet showing high status and wealth of the banner's owner. Also set will include a version of this miniature with an empty banner-pole so you can print and glue any banner you want.

Stay tuned, more to come!

Showcase - more servant cossacks

Made 2 bases of muscovite servant cossacks. Because of large amount of misyurka helmets and chainmail on leader they look more like "private" cossacks of muscovite Stroganov merchant family who conquered Urals and Syberia for the tsar.

These are mostly snaphance armed cossacks printed from stls that you can buy in my store. Stay tuned, more to come!
